The 3rd Annual “Great Event” Community Yard Sale in Stockton Springs – Spaces Still Available

There are still some spaces available to reserve for the giant yard sale in Stockton Springs coming September 8th!

Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will host the 3rd annual GREAT EVENT on Saturday, September 8. Mark your calendars and SAVE THE DATE for the Giant Yard Sale, Barbecue, Bake Sale, Homemade donuts, Children’s Events, and much more! The day starts early at 8 am and goes on through 3 pm when the library closes.

Rental of space at the Giant Yard Sale is underway. Crafters are also welcome. Spaces are approximately 10’ x 15’. Cost is $35. You may bring your own table or you can rent a table for an extra $5. The GREAT EVENT will happen rain or shine. To reserve your space you must fill out an application and pay in advance either by check or cash.

Come to the library during open hours to pick up an application.  Library hours are Monday 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Tuesday 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Thursday  9:00 am – Noon and 6:30 – 8:30 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Scot Cannon at SSCL Annual Summer Reading Program “Libraries Rock” July 31st at 6:00 pm

The Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will finish its annual summer reading program for children on Tuesday, June 31st at 6:00 pm with a special presentation by musician/mime Scot Cannon. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock!” There will be no morning program that day.

Scot Cannon received formal training in Music Education and Composition at Berklee College of Music, pantomime training with Kenyon Martin’s National Mime Theatre, Master Mime Tony Montanaro and the legendary Marcel Marceau . Scot also studied acting with the Lyric Stage of Boston. Scot has worked as a director, producer and consultant for college and theatre presentations. He has also appeared on several television programs. Experience from twelve years of teaching music at the junior high school level has given Scot the awareness and insight into “what makes young people tick”. His combined training and talent have culminated in meaningful programs for school children at all levels which inspire positive action and self-esteem. Scot Cannon is a versatile composer, author, director, producer, actor, mime, musician and teacher with original and captivating, heartwarming performances.

Everyone’s invited to come to the library on Tuesday, July 31st at 6:00 pm to enjoy Scot Cannon!

“Kitchen to Table International Buffet”Fundraiser
Hosted by the library’s Friday Night Supper Club

Saturday, July 14 at 6 pm at the library.  Tickets will go on sale at the library starting June 18that 3 pm. Tickets are $35 each. The event is BYOB and seating is limited.

For the third winter gourmet Chef Jerry Dunn led a cookbook club at the Stockton Springs Community Library that became known as the Friday Night Supper Club. We prepared international cuisine from cookbooks that reflected unique regional and healthy dishes. The supper club remains a resounding success and members again volunteered to produce an international buffet to benefit the library.

The buffet will include: appetizers, soups , entrees, vegetables and desserts from around the world.
