Free Library Membership: Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) believes in free access to library services and does not charge a membership fee to anyone, regardless of residence.
Circulation: According to the library’s 2017 annual report to the Town of Stockton Springs, the library had 1,237 registered patrons, 5,054 items were circulated, there were 585 computer users, and an increase in the number of people who come to the library to access the wireless internet services on their own electronic devises. In addition, SSCL card holders downloaded 678 items through Maine InfoNet.
Mary’s Room: a lovely room dedicated to Mary Staples, an educator and co-founder of the library, serving the children of our community in Mary’s footsteps.
Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and Legos are available for children to play with as well as seasonal coloring and activity pages.
You can play on the cork floor, or area rug, or you can set stuff up on the table!
Winter weather closings: You can find out when the Library is forced to close due to inclement weather on Channel WBLZ Storm Center Closings. We also publish our closings on the SSCL Facebook Page.

Loan Periods:
Books and Audio Books: 3 weeks.
DVDs: 1 week. Only two videos may be borrowed per family at any time. Multiple volume videos: 2 weeks.
Library items may be renewed in person or by phone (567-4147) during open hours.
We do not charge late fees.
Lost or Damaged Books: $25.00 for each item that is lost or damaged beyond repair.
Computer and Internet Wi-Fi Access:
The Library desktop computers are available for patron use and patrons may also bring their own devices to access our wifi inside or outside the building. Please read and sign the Computer Use Policy at the front desk prior to your first use of the Library computers.
Printouts and copies may be made for 25 cents per page for black & white and 50 cents per page for color.
Maine InfoNet
Library patrons can download audiobooks and eBooks from CLOUD LIBRARY through MaineInfoNet using your Stockton Springs Community Library Card Number to your own devices.

ANCESTRY.COM Maine Library Access
Ancestry.com Library Version is accessible for free on the Library’s in-house computers through an arrangement with the Maine State Library. Due to licensing arrangements, patrons can not use their own computers to access the Ancestry.comLibrary Version database.
