Art in the Stacks: Possibility, Art by Karen MacDonald–Opening reception May 15th at 5pm

From May 9th to June 14th the Stockton Springs Community Library continues its Art in the Stacks series with Possibility, a show of mixed media works and two installations by Stockton Springs artist Karen MacDonald. Please join us at the library for an opening reception Thursday, May 15th at 5 PM.

Karen’s work is distinguished by its expressive use of saved objects, found images, and non-traditional materials.  Her work is material-driven, fueled by the particularity of things and their potential. Karen’s artwork has been exhibited at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Portland Public Library, University of New England, Unity College, and a number of mid-coast galleries.

Karen states, “While I have tended to associate possibility with potential and hope, it simply means something might happen. Maybe something magnificent, maybe something just right, maybe something devastating. Or maybe nothing at all. Every moment holds a spectrum of  possibility, asking for our imagination and action.”
