Stockton Springs Town Manager Courtney O’Donnell to speak on Sunday, February 25 at 2pm at the Stockton Springs Community Library

“Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Seniors at Home in Stockton Springs”  2018 speaker series will present Courtney O’Donnell, Town Manager of Stockton Springs, on Sunday, February 25 at 2pm. Ms. O’Donnell will be discussing:

“What are the services that the town helps seniors with?”

Bring your questions so that Courtney can help with getting you an answer.

This will be the third year of monthly talks at SSCL in response to the growing interest in “Aging in Place” a widespread movement geared towards helping senior citizens stay in their homes as long as possible as they age. With the current growing number of elders, this movement has the potential to improve the quality of life for many seniors.

Thanks to the support of the Maine Charity Foundation Fund of the Maine Community Foundation this year’s talks will begin in February and continue through June.

“Cars 3” Children’s Movie at Stockton Springs Community Library Friday, February 16th

Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will present a Children’s Movie “Cars 3” on Friday, February 16th at 6:30 pm.

“Cars 3” is a 2017 American 3D computer-animated sports comedy-drama film produced by Pixar and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is the sequel to Cars and Cars 2. The returning voices of Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt and Larry the Cable Guy are joined by Cristela Alonzo, Chris Cooper, Kerry Washington, and Lea Delaria, in addition to a dozen NASCAR personalities.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers led by arrogant hotshot Jackson Storm, the legendary Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is suddenly sidelined and pushed from the sport he loves. Stockton Springs Community Library Included in 2018 Bangor Savings Bank’s “Community Matters More” Campaign

Bangor Savings Bank “Community Matters More” voting begins on February 1st.

Library receives 2018 grant from Maine Charity Foundation Fund

Stockton Springs Community Library is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Maine Charity Foundation Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. The 2018 grant will be overseen by the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” volunteer group at the library to support the 2018 Speakers’ Series and January-June weekly Tai Chi classes.

The Speakers’ series is beginning its third year and has monthly talks on topics to inform and educate seniors of their health and legal choices. There will be a variety of new speakers and topics in 2018!
