A grant from the Davis Family Foundation has enabled the Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) to make improvements to “Mary’s Room,” the library’s Children’s Room. The room was named in honor of the late Mary Staples, one of the library’s main founders.
Upgrades include new standing bookcases made by Clyde L. Brooks, in addition to a new table and chairs. These improvements will enable the library to accommodate more children at programs and will allow for more work spaces for the children to engage in art and craft programs. The new bookcases will also allow younger children to shelve books, which was difficult to do with the former bin type bookcases.
SSCL is an all volunteer library located in the heart of downtown Stockton Springs. For more information about the library and its programs visit www.stocktonspringslibrary.org
