SSCL re-opens June 1 with new policy

THE LIBRARY WILL RE-OPEN MONDAY JUNE 1, 2020

In order to keep our volunteers and patrons safe this is our new policy:

1. Don’t come to the library if you feel sick or have been exposed to COVID-19

2. FACE COVERINGS are required for volunteers and patron safety

3. Maintain 6 feet physical distance in all areas of the library

4. No food or drink, including closed containers

We are allowed 5 patrons into the library at one time, so please limit the time that you are in to give others a chance.

Those that do not wear a face covering will be limited to curbside service subject to volunteer availability.

While we are following the state re-opening safety guidelines, patrons should be aware that there is some risk in using shared spaces with shared materials. We cannot guarantee a perfectly safe space.

COVID-19 SSCL Update

The Library will be following Department of Economic and Community (DECD). Maine CDC and Maine State Library guidelines and protocols for Libraries when we re-open.

The Library’s free wi-fi is available outside the building. We recommend patrons follow CDC guidelines when accessing this service for the safety of everyone.

The following advice is from the Maine CDC site. https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/airborne/coronavirus.shtml

The Maine CDC is preparing for the potential spread in Maine of the respiratory illness called COVID-19, caused by a novel (new) coronavirus. We urge Maine people to practice good hand hygiene, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home if you are sick. If you are concerned that you have been exposed to COVID-19, call your health care provider, who will determine whether you should be tested and, as appropriate, submit a sample for testing.
