Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will host The State of the Birds: Decades of Change, presented by Nicholas Lund, Maine Audubon’s outreach and network manager, on Wednesday, October 6th at 6 pm. Seating is limited to 25 due to Covid 19, so reserve a seat by calling 567-4147. Masks will be required.
According to Lund, the bird populations in Maine are continually changing. His talk and slide presentation will depict changes that have occurred during the last few decades, including which species are disappearing and which are increasing. He will also discuss the future outlook for Maine birds and ways gardeners can help protect birds.
Lund is a birder, contributes a regular column on the National Audubon Society’s website and hosts the birding website “TheBirdist.” His writing has also appeared in The Washington Post, Slate.com, and National Geographic online, among other publications. Lund is a Maine native and holds a law degree from University of Maine School of Law.
