The 4th Annual GREAT EVENT is Coming to Stockton Springs September 7th!

Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will host the 4th annual GREAT EVENT on Saturday, September 7^th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The grounds of the Library and Town Office will once again be filled with a Giant Yard Sale, Barbecue, Bake Sale, Strawberry Shortcake, Homemade Donuts, Children’s Activities, Games, Face Painting, and much more!

Celebrate the end of summer at this festive event! Find bargains, enjoy good food, see old friends and meet new ones at THE GREAT EVENT!

There are still a few spaces available in the yard sale. If you’d like to rent a space at THE GREAT EVENT Giant Yard Sale you should come to the library soon during open hours. Library hours are Monday 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Tuesday 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Thursday 9:00 am – Noon and 6:30 – 8:30 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. To reserve your space you must fill out an application and pay in advance either by check or cash. Spaces are approximately 10’ x 15’. Cost is $35. You may bring your own table or you can rent a table for an extra $5. Organizations and crafters are also welcome to rent space in the Giant Yard Sale. THE GREAT EVENT will happen rain or shine. The grounds of the Library and Town Office will once again be filled with a Giant Yard Sale, Barbecue, Bake Sale, Homemade donuts, Children’s Events for all ages, and much more!

The atmosphere will be festive and everyone is invited to join in the celebration! Find bargains, enjoy good food, see old friends and meet new ones at the GREAT EVENT!

We want to thank everyone in the community for their donations to our BOTTLES FOR BOOKS cart! Since 2002 we have raised just over $100,000 !!!

To help us celebrate this milestone, please come to the Great Event BBQ on Saturday, September 9, from 11:30 – 1:00 and receive either a hotdog or a hamburg, a bag of chips and a drink free of charge.

THANK YOU for all the bottles and cans……All of our books, DVD’s, and audios are bought with this money.

Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will host the 3^rd annual GREAT EVENT on Saturday, September 8. Mark your calendars and SAVE THE DATE for the Giant Yard Sale, Barbecue, Bake Sale, Homemade donuts, Children’s Events, and much more! The day starts early at 8 am and goes on through 3 pm when the library closes.

Rental of space at the Giant Yard Sale is underway. Crafters are also welcome. Spaces are approximately 10’ x 15’. Cost is $35. You may bring your own table or you can rent a table for an extra $5. The GREAT EVENT will happen rain or shine. To reserve your space you must fill out an application and pay in advance either by check or cash.

Annual Summer Reading Program “Libraries Rock” for Children Begins June 26th at SSCL

The Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will begin its summer reading program for children on Tuesday, June 26^th from 9:30 to 11:30 am and will take place every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 am through July 31^st. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock!”

There will be stories, games, snacks, and lots of fun!

Tuesday, June 26^th will be an introduction to the program. There will be a skit, story, and snack, and participants will create their own story log. In addition to stories, snacks, and activities, each week will have a special theme:

On July 3^rd there will be stories, snacks, and instrument making.

On July 10^th the theme will be “Sounds of Nature.”

On July 17^th the theme will be “Science.”

July 24^th theme to be announced.

July 31^st will be a special Street Party and Barbeque with special guest mime Scott Cannon from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. (There will not be a morning program that day).
