SSCL Holiday closing reminder
Stockton Springs Community Library will be closed from Saturday, December 23 through Tuesday, December 26. We will be open for our regular on the 27th, 28th and 30th.
We wish all of our patrons and volunteers a very happy holiday season. Thank you for all of your support in 2017.
Children’s Holiday Movie at Stockton Springs Community Library Sunday, November 26th at 2:00 pm
Stockton Springs Community Library (SSCL) will present a Children’s Holiday Movie “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” on Sunday, November 26th at 2:00 pm at the library. This free event will include movie snacks, cookie decorating, and surprises.
Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and many more favorite characters join the cast in this adaptation of a classic holiday tale. Scrooge is too greedy to understand that Christmas is the time for kindness and generosity. With the help of some wise ghosts, and the examples set by his clerk Bob Cratchit and nephew Fred, Scrooge learns how to embrace the true spirit of the season.

Stockton Springs Ambulance Director to Speak at Stockton Springs Community Library October 25th at 7:00 pm
“Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Seniors at Home in Stockton Springs” speaker series will present Charles (Chas) Hare, Director of the Stockton Springs Ambulance on Wednesday, October 25th at 7 pm at the Stockton Springs Community Library.
Chas will share information about the ambulance service, disaster preparedness, hazards that can impact you, emergency management, and more. He’ll also discuss what is involved in volunteering for the ambulance service and EMT training. There will be an opportunity for Q & A.
The “Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Seniors at Home in Stockton Springs” series of talks at SSCL is in response to the growing interest in “Aging in Place,” a widespread movement geared towards helping senior citizens stay in their homes as long as possible as they age. With the current growing number of elders, this movement has the potential to improve the quality of life for many seniors.
