Artist Mark Quigley will exhibit his oil paintings at the Stockton Springs Community Library from August 23 to September 6th for a silent auction. Winning bids will be announced during the library’s biggest fundraising event of the year: The Great Event, on Saturday September 6th.
Mark, whose father and uncle were also artists, is self-taught. He is inspired to paint from his photographs of his envrions: Searsport, Stockton Springs and Frankfort.
As an elementary teacher Mark facilitated many art workshops, lectures, and field trips to cultural institutions, even driving the school bus at times to make sure there were artistic opportunities for his students. Since retiring, Mark has been teaching landscape painting to gifted and talented students in the Winterport and Hampden schools.
