Free Library Membership:
Stockton Springs Community Library does not charge a membership fee to anyone, regardless of residence.

Circulation: The library circulates 2,663 items per year, not including audio and ebooks that are downloaded by our patrons through Maine InfoNet. SSCL serves over 1,000 patrons per year.

Winter snow closings: You can find out when the Library is forced to close due to inclement weather on Channel WBLZ Storm Center Closings.

* We have six Kindles with all of our books loaded on them for lending to adult patrons. We have four Kindle Paperwhites and two Kindle Touch. Please help us keep all Kindles charged for the next patron by charging them before you return them. If you realize you haven't while returning them at the circulation desk, please let us know so we can make sure they are charged before lending again. Thank you!

Access Our Library Catalog:
Wondering whether the book or video you want to borrow is in the library? SSCL's library catalog is now accessible online 24/7 from your PC, MAC, Tablet or Smart Phone. Click here to access the online portal to the SSCL Library Catalog. Destiny Quest is also available through the SSCL Library Catalog access portal. Additionally, patrons can also download two different free "Apps": 1) Follett Destiny or 2) Destiny Quest from your tablet or smart phone to access our library catalog. You can see what is new at the library and even see which books and movies are among are the current top 10 items borrowed at SSCL!

Loan Periods:
Books and Audio Books: 3 weeks.
Videos and magazines: 1 week. Only two videos may be borrowed per family at any time. Multiple volume videos: 2 weeks.
Library items may be renewed in person or by phone (567-4147) during open hours.

Late Fees: 10 cents a day for each overdue item.

Lost or Damaged Books: $25.00 for each item that is lost or damaged beyond repair.

Computer and Internet Wi-Fi Access:
The Library has six computers (4 PCs, 1 MAC, & 1 PC Laptop) available for patron use in the Library. Patrons are required to read and sign the Computer Use Policy at the front desk prior to their first use of the Library computers. Printouts and copies may be made for 25 cents per page for black & white and 50 cents per page for color. The Library has wireless Internet access through out the facility and on the front porch. Anyone is welcome to bring their laptop to the Library for their own personal use. The Library cannot be held responsible for any loss of private property so we ask that you do not leave your laptop unattended while visiting our facility.

Maine InfoNet
Library patrons can download audiobooks and eBooksfrom MaineInfoNet using your Stockton Springs Community Library Card Number to your own computer, Kindle, iPad,iPod, and other similar devices. To set up your account you will first need to register for this service at the library. Access to the MaineCat Statewide Library Catalog is also available through Maine InfoNet. Audio application may also require you to download OverDrive (free from an online App Store).

ANCESTRY.COM Maine Library Access
Ancestry.com Library Version is accessible for free on the Library's in-house computers through an arrangement with the Maine State Library. Due to licensing arrangements, patrons can not use their own computers to access the Ancestry.comLibrary Version database.

The Stockton Springs Community Library shares
space in Colcord House with the owner of this historic building,
the Stockton Springs Historical Society (SSHS).

SSHS Visitor Hours: An SSHS volunteer is available every Satuday morning from 9 am to 1 pm from May through December to provide a guided tour of the SSHS historical rooms and artifacts, to assist with looking up information about Stockton Springs, and to discuss the history of Stockton Springs with anyone who is interested. You may also request an appointment by email sshs.history.me@gmail.com or leave a message for a SSHS member with the Library staff during open hours.

SSHS Meetings:
The Stockton Springs Historical Society's meetings are held at Colcord House the first Sunday of each month at 1:30 pm except during the winter months or unless otherwise noted.The first SSHS monthly meeting of this year begins on Sunday, April 2 , 2017 at 1:30 pm in the SSHS meeting room.

June 2017 Meeting Notice
"The Stockton Springs Historical Society has a change of pace for our June meeting. We are meeting SATURDAY, June 3rd at the Sandy Point Community Club for a joint pot luck at 5:00 followed by History on the Walls at 6:00. We have asked members who belong to both groups to share information about their favorite pieces of history posted on the walls of the room. We hope that others will also share their favorites. Both groups are very interested in preserving the history of the area so let's have a good turn-out."

SSHS Memberships:
New members welcome! Annual membership dues is $10.00 per person. Anybody wanting to join can email with name and address and a form will be sent. Or come to the monthly meeting and sign up in person.

Donations:
The Stockton Springs Historical Society welcomes donations of local family records, artifacts, and funds to help the organization achieve its goals.

Merchandise:
Books, maps, and other items related to the history of Stockton Springs are available for purchase at Colcord House during Library Hours. All proceeds benefit SSHS.
